What are the four C’s of diamond quality?

Colour – refers to the lack of colour in a white diamond. A white diamond, with little to no colour, has a higher colour grade. As natural diamonds are created under extreme heat and pressure deep in the earth, it often results in a variety of inclusions and blemishes.

Clarity – refers to the presence or absence of these imperfections, and their quantity and sizes.

Carat – refers to the weight of a diamond, instead of its dimensions and cut.

Cut – determines the brilliance of a diamond. The better the diamond is cut, the more it sparkles.

 

What gemstones can I choose from?

We specialise in bespoke designs, we can source a variety of different gemstones in different shapes and colours. Rohan hand picks every coloured stone himself, travelling the world to bring back the best of colour from some of the epicentres of gemstones.

Some gemstones we are most passionate about include sapphires, emeralds, rubies, garnets, tourmalines, Australian South Sea pearls and Argyle pink diamonds.

 

Do your diamonds come with certificates?
Yes. Majority of our larger diamonds come with independent internationally recognised certificates (e.g. GIA, GSL) which outline the details of the diamond. We do however grade all diamonds and cross reference with the certificates that accompany them. This is one of the most important aspects to purchasing a diamond or stone that have certificates. Our graders have the expertise to guide you to find the right stone that suits you.

 

Can I view the diamonds and gemstones before deciding on one?

Absolutely.  During a one-on-one design consultation, you can choose your diamond or coloured gemstone from a wide range of options. Our experienced team of jewellers and diamond graders will go through each gemstone with you and explain the differences.

 

What is fluorescence in diamonds?
Fluorescence refers to the tendency of a diamond to emit a coloured glow when subjected to ultraviolet light and is a natural characteristic of a diamond. It is classified as none, faint, medium, strong or very strong; and the most common fluorescence colour is blue.

 

Do you work with lab-grown or synthetic diamonds? 

No, this is not an area of the industry that we specialise in.
