Does a custom design cost me more?
No. All of our jewellery is bespoke and handcrafted so there is no additional cost for this service.
What designs can we choose from?
We offer a beautiful range of handcrafted finished rings from our engagement ring and wedding band collection that are ready to wear however our team can create something uniquely for you, and if you wish Rohan to be involved in your bespoke journey, please ask.
What is the difference between Platinum and White Gold?
White gold is mainly a mixture of pure gold and palladium. It is this combination that we craft from. Not all white golds are the same, but white golds are rhodium plated which is a coating of one of the platinum group metals. All white gold will require re-plating during its lifetime. Platinum is its own metal and we use a mix of pure platinum and ruthenium, which is another platinum group metal. Platinum does not need to be rhodium plated as it is very white in itself. It is also noticeably heavier than white gold.
Are there other options for those who don’t want a diamond?
Yes, absolutely. We offer a wide variety of precious and semi-precious coloured gemstones in all shapes and sizes.
If we already have our diamond, can you still make the ring?
It may be possible to use your own diamond or gemstone, however we will need to view the stone and the certification in person prior to confirming if we can work with it. There will be a surcharge for using your own stone.
There are also stones that we will not work with such as moissanite, fracture-filled, lab-grown or synthetic diamonds. While we take the greatest care when handling our client’s own stones, we do not take responsibility for breakage or damage that could occur during the manufacturing process. We encourage you to make a time to discuss your ideas with our design team.
Can I buy just the stone and let my partner choose the ring later?
Yes, we can package up the diamond in a beautiful box for your proposal, then visit us in the boutique with your partner where your bespoke journey begins.
I don’t know her finger size – what shall I do?
If your partner has a ring, place on a ruler to measure the internal diameter of the ring. Also, be sure to remember what finger she wears that ring on, so we can estimated guess as to what the ring finger will be. If you cannot do this, or your partner does not wear rings, we can make the ring to an average finger size. If you have a photo of their hand holding something for size relativity, we can usually get a close estimate. Either way, we offer a complimentary ring resize in the first month if it is a surprise proposal.
How much does an engagement ring cost?
The price of an engagement ring will vary depending on the design you choose, the metal type required, and most importantly, the stone(s) you chose for your ring. Please make a time to discuss your ideas with us and we will happily provide a quote.
How much do Wedding Bands cost?
Prices range for wedding bands depending on finger size, style and whether the design is to be custom designed to fit an existing engagement ring. Materials and design combination is what will determine the pricing. For all clients that have purchased an engagement ring through us, we offer a 15% discount on wedding bands.
How long does it take to have a custom made engagement ring made?
Depending on how complex the design is, our usual turnaround time is 6-8 weeks from when the final design and stones are confirmed.
For wedding bands, we recommend 3-4 months prior to your wedding day. We encourage you to book a complimentary design consultation to discuss your options.
Can I make changes to the design once you have started making my ring?
Depending on what stage we are at with the handcrafting, in most cases, small changes to the design before any stones are set can be made. This would include a change of finger size, profile of the band and width of the band, if the jeweller advises it is safe to do so.
Will my wedding ring match my engagement ring?
We will ensure your wedding band matches perfectly with your engagement ring. We normally require you leave your engagement ring with us and will call you when its needed for the making process to ensure the dimensions match exactly.
