Padparadscha Sapphire, a favourite at Rohan Jewellers
08 February 2018
Padparadscha Sapphire, one of the rarest of all natural sapphires – a perfect mix of delicate pink and orange hues. The word Padparadscha is derived from the Singhalese word for a salmon coloured lotus blossom.
Padparadscha is a favourite at Rohan Jewellery and a gemstone we have worked with on a number of recent custom commissions.
When thinking about a design, we often match Padparadsha with white diamonds to showcase the beautiful colour. White metal with rose gold detail can also work well as the rose gold references the pink hue of the stone.
We have also paired Padparadscha with the rarest diamond in the world, Argyle pink diamonds.
‘I love the idea of using two of the rarest gems in the world. Both Padparadscha and Argyle pink diamonds have similar tones and the result can be beautiful’. Rohan Milne
It is the strikingly beautiful softness of colour and rarity that has garnered Padparadscha Sapphires such a following. The mix of soft orange and peachy pink hues create the perfect palette of colour.
