PRESERVING
BRILLIANCE
FOR GENERATIONS.

INITIAL 6 MONTH CHECK AND SERVICE

It is important for us to see our jewellery in the first 3-6 months of wear to assess how the metal is wearing and the stones are settling into their settings.

An annual professional service by Rohan Jewellers is an important part of our maintenance programme and will ensure your jewellery stays secure and in premium condition.

Our full service will give your jewellery a professional clean and polish, check and tighten all the settings, provide a detailed inspection for wear, tear, and safety.

White gold jewellery may require a rhodium plate to maintain the brightness of the gold. We will also advise if there is any maintenance or repair work that is required.

Please note that fixing any damage may incur a charge. We will provide you with a quote for this ahead of time.

A professional service may take 1-2 weeks, depending on the work required. Please contact us in advance to book in a service at our Mount Lawley Atelier.

As well as the annual professional service, we encourage you to bring your jewellery in for a complimentary ultrasonic clean anytime you are passing. Depending on how busy our workshop is, we may be able to do this within a few hours and on occasions, while you wait. This will revitalise the sparkle and radiance of your jewellery.

This service does not replace the requirement for an annual professional service.

We offer an in-workshop repair service at our Mount Lawley Atelier, where our skilled designers and jewellers assess and advise on necessary repairs to prolong your jewellery’s lifespan.

We’ll consider repairs at our discretion for items not crafted by our workshop. However, if we believe we can’t do justice to the original piece or if there’s a significant risk of damage, we may decline. Please note that despite our utmost care, there’s a risk of damage during the repair, especially for jewellery not crafted by Rohan Jewellers. All repairs are at your own risk, and we assume no responsibility for any resulting damage.

Visit our Mount Lawley atelier for a complimentary consultation on reinventing your sentimental jewellery. Our expert jewellers will assess the piece for potential risks, considering factors like the ability to reuse metals and gemstones. While remodelling can partially reduce costs, the labor involved may limit overall savings. Nevertheless, the sentimental value of the transformed piece is truly priceless.

Care must be taken to ensure the size is as close to possible and to avoid any unnecessary sizing. We offer one complimentary re-sizing in the first 6 months.

FOREVER LUSTROUS

OUR EXPERT JEWELLERY CARE TIPS

Diamonds, with a magnetic affinity to dirt and oil, beckon for a careful touch. The use of sunscreen, moisturiser and soaps can create a film over your diamonds and gemstones that may result in your diamonds appearing dull and lifeless.

Remove your jewellery when undertaking heavy work with your hands such as working out at the gym (particularly lifting weights), playing sports, gardening, or heavy lifting.

Remove your jewellery when carrying out domestic chores, particularly when using chemicals such as chlorine or bleach as these products can damage the finish and lustre of your jewellery.

It is not recommended to wear fine jewellery in pools or spas, particularly public pools, as chlorine is a corrosive chemical.

When the spotlight is off and your jewellery takes a well-deserved rest, ensure it rests in a protective box or pouch. Let each piece have its own space to avoid the dance of unnecessary scratches.

Exercise caution in the unfortunate event of a knock or drop. If you suspect damage, entrust it to us for a thorough safety check as soon as possible.

TOUGH, BUT
NOT INVINCIBLE

DIAMOND CARE

A diamond may be durable and one of Earth’s hardest natural materials, however breaking, chipping, or cleaving can still occur if it is hit or knocked at the right angle.

Care must be taken to ensure your diamond is not knocked against hard surfaces or other metals.

Examples of the type of damage that may occur to diamonds when rings are not cared for properly.

Diamond bands being consistently and regularly worn against metal railings (i.e. boat railings) resulting in loss of diamonds due to damaged settings.

Diamond engagement rings being worn on a necklace alongside other rings. The constant knocking, scratching, and clinking of the ring against other metals and stones can cause cleaving and/or chipping of diamonds.

Diamond rings worn alongside other jewellery not designed to be worn together.
Rings worn while lifting weights, Pilates or barre work.

THE DNA OF THE
TENNIS BRACELET

Chris Evert’s infamous diamond bracelet snapped mid-match during the U.S Open in 1987, coining the term ‘tennis bracelet.’ The mishap led to an unprecedented fashion phenomenon, but also serves as a pertinent reminder that fine jewellery is delicate and prone to damage.

TENNIS BRACELET CARE

We recommend bringing your bracelet in for a service after the first 6 months and every 12 months after this.

Ensure the fit of the bracelet is correct. The bracelet should not be too loose or too tight. Our team will demonstrate how to open and close the bracelet. The clasp will wear and break if this is forced. We have included instructions below.

Tennis bracelets are recommended for occasional wear. Remove your tennis bracelet before sleeping, swimming  or exercising.

It is recommended to wear tennis bracelets by themselves. If they are worn next to a watch or other bracelets, wear and tear will occur a lot faster.

As with anything of high value, we recommend adding your bracelet to your jewellery insurance. Our Team can provide a quote through the Diamond Guild Australia (DGA) Mastercare Insurance.

TO OPEN

Release the figure 8 safety catches. Hold onto the box clasp section where all the diamonds are joined together, push down onto the raised diamond to release the clasp, and pull apart gently. Avoid pulling on the length of the bracelet as this will put pressure on the articulated joints. Holding on to the diamonds closest to the clasp where they are joined together is the best way to avoid excess wear and tear.
