Black Diamond Gala Dinner - A stunning success
04 August 2015
DRUM ROLL PLEASE…
We are thrilled to announce that our stunning black and white diamond pendant raised $24,100 at the Black Diamond Gala Dinner for Lifeline WA on Saturday night! We could not be happier. A cause very close to our hearts, 100 % off this money will go towards the important work of Lifeline WA. The pendant was raffled and won by our very good friend, Simon Henderson who kindly donated the pendant back to be auctioned. An extra $6600 was raised in the live auction. A huge thank you to our generous buddy Simon.
The night was a huge success with more than 330 people in attendance. Guests were treated to stunning panoramic views of the city while enjoying a sumptuous three-course meal designed exclusively for Black Diamond by Fraser’s award winning Head Chef, Chris Taylor.
The highlight of the evening was hearing from Black Diamond’s special guest speaker Aurelio Costarella, who provided a brave and candid account of his recent struggle with depression. Aurelio is an ambassador for Lifeline WA championing their work in suicide prevention. Through the sharing of his story, Aurelio is helping to break down the stigma surrounding suicide, encouraging more people to come forward to seek help.
How important is the work of Lifeline WA? The statistics are sobering. Suicide is the leading cause of death for Australians under the age of 44. Every 3 and a half hours, someone takes their own life. Many vulnerable people simply don’t know where to go to get help. Lifeline WA can help people access the appropriate care.
A huge thank you to the incredible Lifeline WA team and Tamara Kiragu from Known Associates for her impeccable event management and styling.
