A Lost Ring, A Found Story

Every now and then, a story comes along that reminds us of the quiet magic in good people and community. Recently, a men’s platinum wedding band was discovered in the leafy surrounds of Hyde Park and, in a beautiful act of kindness, was brought back to us. At first glance, it was a simple band but those who know our work will understand that it told a deeper story.

Justin lost his ring in Hyde Park a couple of months earlier after dinner and drinks with a mate. After hours of searching, he went home empty handed, then returned and spent the next three days combing the area. He even enlisted the help of a professional metal detectorist and ring finder, but the freshly mowed lawn disrupted the scanning process. No ring was found until some good Samaritan locals spotted the ring. Inside the ring, our signature Rohan hallmark and a discreetly set ruby offered the first clues, and was handed into our Mount Lawley Atelier.

With careful attention to the handcrafted profile, bespoke sizing, weight, materials, and the setting of the inner stone, we were able to trace it back to its rightful owner.

“I actually looked at the weights, because I had the ring here I could weigh it. It was the weight of it that gave it away,” Rohan explained.

“I’ve honestly been riding the wave since I found out the other day. It was incredible. It turned into this absolute fairytale.” – Justin, ring owner.

Thanks to the honesty of those who found it and the generous spirit of the Perth community (including PerthNow and Nova 93.7) who helped amplify our search, this sentimental piece has been reunited with the hands it was made for.

It’s moments like these that remind us how special our Mount Lawley community truly is.
